How do I apply to one or more of the Midwest Boarding Schools?
Most members of MWBS accept the Boarding School Common Application, and if your child is applying
to more than one boarding school, it will save you time to use these forms. Otherwise, our
individual schools will be happy to send you a copy of their application materials; you can also
download application forms from many schools' websites.
In addition to application forms, schools generally require an official school transcript,
standardized testing scores, and an interview or campus visit. Each school can explain its own
requirements to your family.

Will my child have to take a test as part of the admissions process?
While test scores alone do not define any child and his or her abilities, they can be an important
piece of the larger picture, and most MWBS require scores from one of the tests listed below.
Please contact individual schools to learn which tests they require. To find out more about these
tests, please visit their websites.
The ISEE (Independent School Entrance Exam)
Administered by the Educational Records Bureau (NY)
The SSAT (Secondary School Admissions Test)
Administered by the Secondary School Admissions Testing Board (NJ)
The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language for international students)
Administered by the Educational Testing Service (NJ)
